Amanda is engaged!!!

Last Wednesday Amanda and her boyfriend Jerrod got engaged. Jerrod had it all planned out and invited all the family to be there to watch so Lauren, Mom, Cooper and myself all made the trip to Houston Wednesday afternoon. They picked me up at my office and we met everyone at the restaurant where Jerrod was planning everything about 7:30. Amanda thought she was going out with her friend Lauren for a girls night out. She called me that day to tell me about everything they had planned for the night. There were about 20 of us at the restaurant and Jerrod rented out the party room so we all stood against the wall as Lauren and Amanda walked in about 8 because Amanda thought they were just going to have dinner. She was shocked and she just stood there with her mouth open and was wondering what was going on. Then Jerrod walked in behind her and started his long speech which had everyone in the room in tears. It was so sweet and then he got on one knee and asked Amanda and she said yes. It was such an exciting thing to be a part of. She was not expecting to see us that night she couldn't believe we drove all that way. I could tell she was so glad everyone came to be a part of her special night. We drove back afterwards so it was a late night but it was well worth it. Wedding plans are underway now and I think they are planning a fall wedding which is so exciting. Here are some pictures from the big proposal.

We have a new nephew!

Mason Luke Padgett was born April 15th weighing 10 lbs. 5 oz. and 22 inches long. The whole family is at home now and doing great. He is so cute, going to the hospital to visit Leslie and John Paul made everything seem so real and I can't believe that will be us in just a few weeks. It made me very excited and a little nervous all at the same time. Here are some pictures of Mason.

Doctor's Appt.

We had a doctor's appt. this week and they did another sonogram to check on the position of my placenta and we got great news, it had totally moved and everything looked normal! There is no reason for us to have to have a c section at this point. He was head down so hopefully he will stay put for the next few weeks. It was great to see him on the screen one more time. We got to see a neat profile picture of him and he was smacking his lips the whole time. I'm counting down now only 10 more weeks until we get to meet our little man! Here is a picture Clifton took of me in front of a huge tractor he is borrowing.

Our first Shower

We had our first baby shower this weekend and it was so much fun. We got lots of good stuff for Layton and had a great time with family and friends. Some of the bigger items we got were the pack in play and the jogging stroller. We are so thankful to have great friends like Chad, Kellie, Justin and Natalie to have a party like this for us. Here are some pictures from the party. . . . . .
