Hindes Family Rockport Trip

Last weekend my whole family went to Rockport and stayed for 3 nights. It was so much fun for all of us to get together because it usually only happens once or twice a year. My parents have an RV at Lagoons RV park down there so they rented a bunch of cottages for all of us to stay in. It was the perfect set up because we each had our own cottage which was nice when it came to nap time for all the little ones. Our first day we just hung out and go settled in and I took a nap once Layton went down for his. Carter, Laura, Amanda and Jerrod came in that evening and we all ate dinner together. We also celebrated my mom's birthday because it was the day before. Amanda made a yummy pound cake so we had strawberry shortcake.

These are the little cottages we stayed in. They were perfect.

Cooper was helping Nana open her birthday presentsFriday morning we were up at 7:30 Layton didn't get the message that you are supposed to sleep until at least 8 on vacation so Amanda and I went for a run around the turtle pond. Then we got everyone dressed and ready for the beach and lunches packed and Layton decided he was ready for a nap. Layton went to sleep and thankfully Grandma Hill agreed to stay back with him until he woke up. It was nice to be able to relax at the beach for a little while before Layton got there. Once he woke up Cooper was about ready to take a nap so Daniel and Lauren took him back and picked up Layton. We had fun that afternoon at the beach and Layton loved it.
That night we all went to Corpus to eat some seafood at Two George's. It was delicious!

Saturday Amanda and Jerrod agreed to watch Layton so Clifton, Carter, Laura and I could go fishing out in the bay with some of Clifton's family that was down there too. We didn't catch anything that we could keep but we had fun trying. Amanda and Jerrod took Layton to the beach that afternoon and got a taste of what having a baby is all about. That night we all ate pizza together back at the cottages and stayed up late talking outside after all the babies were asleep.

Laura caught the first fish of the daySunday morning we took Cooper and Layton to the park to swing and to see the turtles at the pond before packing up and heading home. It was so much fun spending time with everyone. I hope we get to do it again next summer! My parents were so generous in putting all of it together and providing all the food we are so thankful!
Layton loved the "sings" as he called them and cried and cried once we left

It was so hot out there that day the boys were not wanting to take a picture together.Layton kept trying to jump in with the turtles and it was only 100 degrees, poor baby was so hot.Aunt Laura keeping Layton entertained while we packed the car.Layton was watching everyone pack up my parents RV. He fell asleep right after I took this picture and slept most of the drive home.
My parents decided to bring the RV home with them and they are taking it to Medina Lake next weekend and leaving it there through Labor Day weekend. We are excited about many fun times at the lake this next month.

Jacob's wedding

My cousin got married last weekend in Wimberley at the Old Glory Ranch. It was so pretty there and we had a great time visiting with all of my mom's family that we don't see very often. We took Layton with us even though we knew he would be a challenge and he did really well. Thankfully the wedding was short and sweet so we didn't have to keep him still and quiet for too long. It was a little hot during the cocktail hour outside but Amanda and Jerrod chased Layton for awhile so I could get a break. They are going to make great parents some day. They are so good with Layton. We stayed until about 10 at the reception and then Layton slept the whole way home. It was a beautiful wedding and I'm so glad we got to go.

It also happened to be my mom and dad's 34th wedding anniversary so it was nice to spend the day with them too. I can't wait to be able to say that we have been married that long some day. My parents have been a great example for us. I'm truly blessed to call them my mom and dad.

Layton Playing

Here are some random pictures of Layton playing this week. He loves to play outside and will throw a fit and stand by the back door and cry when it is time to come in. We spend a lot of time outside in the evenings just following him around. He loves to walk around and explore.

Playing with Emersen

Friday night our friends Chad and Kellie and their daughter Emersen came over and we all went out to eat Mexican food. Layton and Emersen had fun playing together before and after dinner back at our house. Emersen is becoming more and more mobile each time we see her. It is amazing how fast kids change. Layton is so funny he likes to pat her on the back but before too long she is going to be chasing him. We had fun watching the two of them interact and play with each other. Here are a few pictures of the two kiddos:
