A Sad Goodbye

As soon as we got back to Pleasanton last Sunday night we went straight to my parents house to hang out with Daniel, Lauren, Cooper and Kyleigh one last time before they moved to College Station. My parents and my Grandma cooked a delicious dinner for everyone and we had fun playing with all the kids. It was so hard telling them goodbye. It is hard to explain to a 16 month old that his cousin is moving 3 hours away but now when he asks about Cooper we just say he is at his new house. We will have to plan a visit there soon. It was bittersweet that night we were all sad but at the same time happy for them and Daniel's new job opportunity.

This is "baby Kyleigh" as Layton always says I'm going to miss this sweet girl
Here is crazy Cooper he is such a good cousin to Layton we are going to miss him so much
My mom bought Layton and Cooper matching rain boots and we had fun laughing at the boys trying to walk around in them.

Road Trip to Dallas

Last weekend we took our longest road trip ever with Layton to Dallas to visit my good friend Jackie and her husband Jared. We made it up there by Friday evening and had a wonderful dinner at Babe's one of my favorite restaurants in that area. We hung out and watched the Rangers game that night after we put Layton to bed. Layton slept amazing at their house and decided to sleep until 10 on Saturday morning so Clifton and I took advantage of that and slept in as well. I can't even remember the last time I have slept that late. Jackie made us a yummy big breakfast and then we all went to the Dallas Aquarium. Layton had fun looking at all the different animals and Jackie and I had fun taking pictures. Layton loved Jackie and Jared's two dogs Rusty and Goose he had fun playing with them and they weren't sure what to think about such a little person staying at their house with them. We let Layton nap that afternoon and we just relaxed back at their house before we went and had another delicious dinner at Fireside Pies. We had some awesome pizza and sangria wine. Jackie and I ended up staying up Saturday night until 2 just talking and catching up and it was so nice to have an entire weekend to hang out with them. We got up and had brunch before we hit the road to head home. Layton slept an hour and half on the way home but by the time we got to Buda he was ready for a break so we stopped at Cabela's and let him run around there for a little bit. It was a long drive but so worth it. I can't wait to go visit them again. Here are some pictures from our fun weekend in Dallas.

Becky's Diaper Shower

Last Thursday I hosted a diaper shower for my good friend Becky that I have worked with for several years. She is having her second boy at the beginning of December. We had it at Dulce Vida in San Antonio her favorite place to eat. We had a great turn out and Becky got so many cute things for baby Daylon. I had fun putting the shower together and making some cupcakes and cookies for everyone to take with them. Here are a few pictures from our fun night.

The Pumpkin Patch 2010

Saturday morning we went with Daniel and Lauren and all the kids to the Pumpkin Patch in Devine. It was a little harder this year to get a good picture of Layton because he wanted to run around the whole time and carry around the pumpkins. I think the boys had so much fun which is what really matters and Kyleigh sure looked cute in her pumpkin princess outfit. They had so many different activities there for the boys to do. Lauren and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves laughing at Daniel and Clifton riding the barrel train with the boys. They were too small to ride it by themselves but they were excited about the choo choo tractor. Layton was worn out after we left and slept the whole way home and then came home and took a three hour nap. We took so many pictures that morning and here a few of the better ones.

My Ten Year High School Reunion

This weekend was my ten year high school reunion. I still can't believe it has been that long since I graduated. Friday night we went to the high school football game here in Pleasanton and at half time my classmates walked across the field. It was nice to catch up with a few of my friends that showed up but we didn't stay long because I didn't want Layton out in the cool air too long. Saturday night there was a dinner and a dance for us at Coughran Hall here in town for our class. Clifton and I went for a little bit but there weren't that many people that showed up. Most of my close friends didn't make the effort to come but it was so nice to catch up with the ones that did. It was great to see some faces I hadn't seen in so long and catch up with a few people. Corky and Leigh Ann were so generous to keep Layton for us all night so we enjoyed the evening to ourselves. Here are a few pictures from my reunion.

These are of Layton before the football game he looked so grown up. It was his first time to wear a belt and he thought he was big stuff.

And just for fun here are a few pictures from high school that I scanned this afternoon.
