Fun Weekend

We had a nice weekend after a long week. I had to leave Thursday morning really early for Dallas for work and was gone until Friday night. I really missed having my Friday to spend with Layton but Grammy D took great care of him for us. Clifton and Layton managed everything without me and it worked out pretty good because now Layton has decided formula isn't so bad. He is finally drinking it without a fight. This weekend Carter and Laura came to visit so we spent lots of time with them and playing with cousin Cooper. On Sunday we went to a birthday party for one of our friend's little girls that was turning 2. It was a beautiful day and we spent a lot of time outside. Layton enjoyed watching the older kids play and was very friendly to everyone at the party. He was talking and waving at everyone. This weekend he has started making the vroom vroom noise a truck or tractor makes when he pushes them on the floor. Not sure where he learned that but it is the cutest thing he is such a boy. He loves to drive things now and is really getting into riding toys. Kaitlyn had a tractor that he loved riding on, it was just his size. He is also standing a lot by himself and now pulls himself up without holding onto something and slowly squats down. He has also been taking really long naps lately and is always laughing now at everything. We are truly enjoying this stage!

Random Pictures from Last Weekend

Here are some random pictures from last weekend that I thought were too cute not to post. We went to Daniel and Lauren's house and Layton enjoyed playing with Cooper's big boy toys. It was funny Layton kept trying to get to where Cooper was so he could drive.

Last Saturday Layton slept until 9:45 it was so nice getting to sleep in on a Saturday morning. He was in a great mood when he woke up. Here he is using his phone as a remote for the t.v. He points anything at the t.v. now and pretends it is a remote.

Mason's 1st Birthday Party

Last weekend we went to cousin Mason's first birthday party and Layton really enjoyed watching Mason eat cake and open presents. He also got to see his Grammy D and Granny Leigh so he had plenty of attention all night. He even got his first taste of some birthday cake too. It was a nice evening and thankfully it stopped raining so we could all spend a little time outside. Here are a few pictures from the party.

Ten Months Old

Layton turned 10 months old yesterday which means he is one more month closer to turning one. I'm hanging onto these last few months of him being a baby and trying to cherish every moment with him. I never realized how fast babies grow until I had my own.

We have been trying since last weekend to start supplementing with formula because I have gone through all my milk I had frozen and just can't keep up with him anymore pumping at work. Layton has been so stubborn he pushes the bottle away if there is even an ounce of formula in the bottle. My mom was able to get him to drink a little bit this week but it has been a challenge. I think we are making progress though Clifton was able to get him to drink 4 oz. yesterday so hopefully he will get used to the new taste. I know I'm ready to pack up my pump it is time.

The past few days Clifton and I were talking it seems like Layton has grown up he thinks everything is so funny and is in such a great mood all the time. There for awhile he was whining all the time and only wanted me and would cry when I would walk out of the room even if Clifton was holding him. He has also started sleeping later which is awesome; he is still sleeping right now and it is 9:40. I don't know what to do with myself. Yesterday he took a 3 1/2 hour nap and I was able to get a nap in too. I think his teeth have finally stopped hurting him until some more decide to come through. He has four teeth that you can see now and has two more top teeth coming in now. He loves to eat finger foods, he is such a great eater. He will eat anything we give him and loves to feed himself. We have been giving him lots of different kinds of veggies and he eats all of them. He will only drink cold water out of a sippy cup and does not like juice. He has recently started to dance when music is playing and it is the cutest thing and he will hum now too if we sing to him. My dad has also taught him to say Papa and he says that all the time now. He will also say bye bye now when he waves. Here are a few pictures of what Layton has been up to this week.

He loves to stand at the back door and watch Roscoe and Daisy and beat on the window or if Clifton goes outside he wants to stand and watch him.
The music table has provided endless hours of entertainment and he now dances with the music.
Here he is after his bath this week he loves bath time!
This is Layton in action in his room cruising the furniture

and he has learned how to open this cabinet and he knows there is stuff in there that he isn't supposed to have so this is his favorite thing to do in his room right now.
He loves to open all of his drawers and empty out everything so much fun to clean up
He likes to talk on the phone and my old cell phone is one of his new favorite toys

Here is a short video of him dancing to his music table

Today is Mason's first birthday party so it should be a fun day. More pictures to come!

Lauren's Surprise Shower

This morning Brooke and I hosted a surprise diaper shower for Lauren. I've never thrown a surprise party for anyone but it was so much fun and Lauren was definitely surprised! Everyone was in on it so that helped me coordinate everything and get Lauren to our house on a Saturday morning dressed up. Lauren thought she was coming to our house with Juli to take some maternity pictures out by our tank. Lauren's mom and grandma made the trip down too and stayed with my parents last night so she didn't have a clue they were even in town. Lauren got a lot of really cute clothes for Miss Kyleigh and some diapers and other goodies too. That little girl is going to be the best dressed baby ever! Here are a few pictures from the shower:

Hanging with cousin Cooper

Friday Amanda, Lauren, Layton and I all went shopping in San Antonio. We didn't plan on shopping all day but we were having so much fun and Layton was being so cooperative that time got away from us. We were so tired by the time we made it home Daniel and Clifton decided to cook dinner for us at Daniel and Lauren's house. We enjoyed some good seafood that night and Layton got a chance to play with Cooper a little while since he had been in a stroller most of the day poor baby. We thought it would be fun to bathe Layton and Cooper together thinking they would love it. Cooper wasn't a fan of sharing his bath tub with cousin Layton. Layton was patting Cooper at one time he was crying so loud trying to let him know that it would be okay. Layton loved it and was splashing and kicking the whole time. Here are a few pictures from our evening of fun.
