Pictures of Layton

Here are a few random pictures of Layton I've taken recently.  I've been playing with my camera a lot these days trying to get better at taking pictures and putting all the stuff I learned in my class to use.

Layton saying his version of ice cream.  He now corrects himself after he says it because he knows how to say ice cream the right way but I think it is so funny when he says this.

A beautiful morning at the park

Friday we had our playgroup at the park and the weather couldn't have been any better.  It was the perfect day to spend the morning outdoors.  Layton had so much fun he went from one thing to the next.  He is still talking about the slide this morning.  He also had to try out each swing at the park we literally went from one to the next one until we had been on each one.  He also impressed me and scared me with his climbing abilities.  I was talking to some of the other moms and looked up and he was at the top of the rock climbing wall saying look mommy.  Now that the weather has been nicer I need to start taking him more often.  He was so tired he fell asleep on our way home and then I put him in bed and he took a 3 hour nap.  Here are a few pictures from our fun morning at the park.

Doing so much better

Layton started running fever last Sunday night and had been coughing for a little over a week.  We ended up taking him to the doctor on Monday and he had another ear infection.  They also said he was wheezing but thankfully he didn't have RSV.  They gave us an antibiotic for the ear infection, steroids for his cough and instructed us to give him breathing treatments for a week.  Thankfully he is doing so much better this weekend.  He had a rough week and I ended up staying home with him on Wednesday because Tuesday night Clifton and I were both up with him from 3 am until it was time for my alarm to go off.  I knew I wouldn't be able to function at work all day and was worried about how he would be acting all day with my mom.  By Wednesday night he was doing so much better but my mom caught a stomach bug and Clifton had some kind of virus too so we didn't have anyone to keep him on Thursday.  Deborah was out of town this week so I ended up staying home with Layton again on Thursday.  We had lots of fun playing and even got out of the house Thursday and went to Target, Hancock Fabric and Chick Fil A for lunch.  Mommy even got a nap in that afternoon which was awesome.  I took a few pictures the other night while Clifton was giving Layton his breathing treatments.  He does so much better with Clifton giving them to him.  We let him watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse while he sits there and he really has done pretty good with it but I'm glad tomorrow is our last day of having to mess with it.

Fun times with friends

Last weekend we had some friends and family over for dinner and Layton had fun playing with Emersen and Sadie.  Clifton and I had a smoked ham we have been wanting to fix when we had some other people to share it with so we made that with trash can potatoes and Caesar salad and it was delicious.  We just hung out at the house with everyone and the kids kept us all entertained.  Here are a few pics from Saturday night.

Emersen was having so much fun on Layton's horse.

San Antonio Rodeo 2011

Last Friday my mom and I took Layton and Cooper to the San Antonio Rodeo grounds.  Cooper was in town for a few days while Daniel went to a work conference.  I have been wanting to take Layton before it was over but the weather was just so cold at the beginning.  The boys had so much fun Layton was not ready to go home when it was time to leave.  We rode a few carnival rides which was a first for Layton and I think Cooper too and even played a carnival game.  We enjoyed some typical carnival food and the boys shared a corn dog while we were out there too.  We saw some of the animals in the barn and watched a few minutes of a ranch rodeo.  We walked around and looked at all the tractors, trailers, rangers, equipment etc.  I think that was the highlight for both boys and then we also made it into the petting zoo which Cooper absolutely loved but at this point Layton was tired and was having a melt down.  Here are a few pictures from our fun morning at the rodeo.

These were taken right before we left Layton was making faces.

Cooper found him a "Gigi" of course on the carousel.

This was on the little train ride.

I love this picture the smiles on the boys faces are priceless.  They were having so much fun!

 Layton playing the carnival game.
Cooper trying to decide which duck to pick.

This is the only one I got in the petting zoo trying to keep track of both boys in a very crowded area while Layton was crying and taking pics was impossible.
We had so much fun and Layton was exhausted he slept the whole way home.
