Praise God!!!
Thanks so much to all of you that have been praying for my mom. She finished her last radiation treatment last Tuesday. I know her and my dad are glad that it is all behind them. She has really been a trooper through all of this and I know it is because she had so many people encouraging her and praying for her daily. Please pray for her continued recovery!!!

Two Great Weekends!
Last weekend Clifton and I spent Saturday in San Antonio shopping. We both had some birthday money to spend and we also met up with Clifton's mom, stepmom and sister to look for a rocker recliner for the nursery. It was a long day of shopping but so much fun. We haven't spent a whole day together like that in awhile. Clifton bought me the diaper bag I've been wanting and he got some new clothes. We also were able to find a rocker recliner that is really nice for Layton's room thanks to the grandmas. Here are some pictures of the recliner in the nursery. We are still waiting on some stuff to come in that I ordered online that matches the bedding set to hang on the walls.
This weekend my friend Jackie that I played volleyball with at TLU came down from Dallas to spend the weekend with us. We had a great time Saturday morning we got up and went walking and then headed to San Antonio to do a little shopping and then went and got pedicures which was awesome. Saturday night my other college friend Barbara and her husband Jeff and their little boy Brady came over for dinner and we all got to catch up. It was a nice relaxing weekend.

27 weeks
This past week Layton has been camping out on my ribs on my right side so they have been a little sore but other than that it has been another great week. He is kicking like crazy all the time and the kicks have gotten a lot more powerful. Now I can feel him in two different parts of my belly at the same time I guess he is getting longer in there. Here is a 27 week belly pic!
Clifton's 29th birthday was on Wednesday so I made dinner for us that night and then my family came by with some goodies and some birthday money for him. They had been wanting to check out the progress of the nursery too. Then we went over to Justin and Natalie's and shared our lemon meringue pie from Marie Callenders with them. Here are some pics of the little celebration at their house.

Leslie and John Paul's Shower
The couples shower for Leslie and John Paul was a great success. I think we had about 50 people come and they got a lot of their big items and tons of baby stuff. It was exciting watching her open all the baby gifts. I was pretty tired when everything was over but it was a lot of fun. Here are some pics from the shower. Leslie had a sonogram last week and at 34 weeks the baby was already over 8 lbs. so we might get to meet our new little nephew sooner than later. Enjoy the pics!

26 weeks and counting. . . .
I decided to start a blog because this will be the easiest way to keep in touch with so many of my close friends and family and I know once the baby arrives life is going to be crazy for awhile. I can update all of you on what the baby is doing each week and post pictures. Well as many of you know by now it is a boy and we have decided on the name Layton James Shearrer. Clifton had a friend in college with the name Layton and he has always liked it and I have too so the name just seemed right.
I had my monthly check up last week and everything was good. We heard the baby's heartbeat again which is so awesome to hear everytime we go. At my next appt. on March 31st (29 weeks) they will be doing another sonogram to check on my placenta to see if it has moved at all to determine if I have to have a c-section. I've been blessed throughout my whole pregnancy and haven't had to deal with any kind of sickness which I'm thankful for that. I've also been able to continue working out thus far which has helped me a lot. Not sure what I would do if I was told I couldn't work out anymore.
This weekend Clifton helped me hang curtains in Layton's room and it turned out so cute. I'll try and take some pictures of the progress so far. We have the furniture and the bedding all set up. I'm still waiting on a few more of the accessories to come in that match everything. This weekend we also got the chicco travel system thanks to Grandma Hindes so we put the stroller together and I had fun pushing it around the house practicing.
This next weekend we are hosting Leslie and John Paul's baby shower at our house so we also spent a lot of time this weekend cleaning house, cleaning off the front and back porches and I planted a bunch of flowers. Everything looks so nice now we are ready for the party.
I've moved into a new position at work so now I'm a SOX internal auditor. I am now one of the people in our company that audits our internal controls to make sure they are working effectively so when the external auditors come they can check them. I'm now trying to work a flexible schedule of 7:15-4:15 which has helped with missing the traffic. It has been nice getting home earlier in the evenings. I've enjoyed my new position so far and am looking forward to having more flexibility once the baby arrives and less overtime in my new role.
The picture above was taken last weekend at 25 weeks!
