We headed to Grammy D's house just down the road in Blackhill on Sunday and tried to get Layton to take another nap. He wasn't having it that day so we finally got him out of bed and let him play. Mason was able to nap a little bit before we took the boys outside to play. We had a nice relaxing visit that afternoon and watched the boys play while Clifton and John Paul rode around the place. Grammy D cooked us a nice dinner but Layton was so tired and cranky at this point he wouldn't eat and was throwing some good fits. We opened presents with everyone and I was so happy to get a whole bunch of cake and cupcake decorating tools and Clifton got some a new wrench set that he has been wanting. Layton got a new drum set full of musical instruments. He has been a little drummer boy all over the house lately. Grammy D liked all of her presents we got her and we had fun that day with everybody. We headed home earlier that night because Layton was exhausted. I was so glad to have a holiday that following Monday to be at home with Layton so we both could relax and play with all the new toys. Here are some pics from our afternoon with Grammy D.

Sweetie had to get in on the action too.
We had so much fun with all of our family this Christmas this season but needless to say hauling an 18th month old to that many Christmases was exhausting. We told each other we were going to try and consolidate some of the family gatherings next year and then maybe it wouldn't be so hectic for everybody. I can't wait to see what Christmas is going to be like next year because Layton is still talking about Santa every now and then so it will be interesting to see what he remembers next year.
