A Week to Remember

Wow this week did not go as planned is all I can say.  Monday morning Layton's teacher called me and said he had thrown up and I needed to come pick him up.  Not the call I was expecting to get :(  Layton was embarrassed more than anything poor kid and I could tell he felt terrible.  He slept the rest of the afternoon at home and ran fever.  Tuesday he woke up and was fine didn't have fever and wanted to eat.  I kept him home from school just in case and Molly and him played together most of the day.  Wednesday we went to Bible Study and everyone was great.  I managed to take all three kids by myself and then we went to the park and had a picnic lunch and played.  I was tired but was feeling fine.  I even ran that evening in town with Juli and felt great after we finished running.  That night Layton started complaining about his feet hurting before bed and I kind of blew it off.  He woke me up every hour that night crying in pain saying his feet were hurting.  At this point I noticed a rash on the bottom of his feet.  I started feeling really bad during the night and was freezing.  I woke up with fever and a sore throat.  After a trip to the pediatrician and urgent care Layton had hand foot and mouth disease and I had strep throat.  Thankfully Clifton could see how terrible I felt and stayed home to help with the kids the rest of the day so I could sleep.  I could barely eat my throat hurt so bad.  Friday Layton was able to go back to school since the doctor said he is no longer contagious since he hasn't had fever since Monday and my mom watched Molly.  Parker and I slept most of the day and took it easy.  Saturday morning we woke up for Layton's soccer game and I had the rash on my hands and feet and sores in my mouth.  I was miserable.  As the day went on it got worse and was itching like crazy.

Needless to say we have spent the weekend at home trying to get better.  I would not wish this on anyone.  I have it much worse than Layton did and our pediatrician said it was rare for adults to get it but if they do it is usually pretty bad.  Molly started running fever last night and now she has it.  I'm kind of glad she got it so we can all get over this and be done with it.  You are only supposed to get it once so I hope that is the case for all of us.  I have tried so hard to keep Parker away from everyone and I have been washing my hands like crazy so I don't give him strep or hand foot mouth.  I know some day I can look back on this week and laugh but it has been crazy.  Today we have cleaned and disinfected the whole house.  I've wiped down toys, door knobs, counters basically anything the kids touch.  There is never a dull moment with three little ones.  Thankful for healthy kids and that all we have to deal with are minor sicknesses and nothing else :)

 He loves his thumb

Parker fell asleep sitting up in my lap while I was working on my Bible Study.
I got my new canvases hung in my sewing corner.
A moment when they were actually being sweet to each other.

Parker has been trying out the bumbo this week for the first time.  He looks so tiny in it.
 Ready for the game
My foot tonight ready for this to clear up.
