The Night Before Kindergarten

This sweet boy will be starting Kindergarten in the morning.  How is that possible?  Time flies when you are having fun I guess.  He is so excited and he has a fabulous teacher Mrs. Trevino that we got to meet the other night.  I'm the one that isn't ready I feel like once we start on this new school schedule time is really going to speed up and the years will just fly by.  I love being at home with my babies and I enjoy taking them places and doing fun things with them.  I'm just not ready to be stuck on a school schedule and I'm going to miss taking him to BSF with us every Wednesday.  This year will not be the same without him.  I loved the ability to take him out of Pre-K last year because he wanted to stay home and play or we had an impromptu little outing or camping with my parents in the middle of the week.  Don't get me wrong I will still be busy with Molly and Parker all day everyday and I'm looking forward to a little more time to focus on them but I am going to miss this boy like crazy!

I can remember watching him sleep like this just like it was yesterday.

Layton,

You are going to do awesome tomorrow at your new "BIG" school!  I'm so proud of the little boy you have become the last few years.  I love your confident, outgoing personality and I know it is going to take you places someday.  I pray that you have an awesome first year and that more than anything you let your light shine so others can see Jesus' love through you.  You are so special and I'm praying you make some great friends this year and enjoy going to school.  I pray your teacher can make learning fun for you.  The house won't be the same during the day without you around.  I feel like tomorrow is the first step in letting go and letting you grow up a little and that makes me nervous and sad.  Up to this point I have always been the one to kiss your boo boos, calm you down when you got scared, chosen who you will be around and comforted you when other kids were mean to you.  You will be on your own tomorrow but I know you are so ready.  Tomorrow Mommy is going to be strong for you as I drop you off because I know you are going to do great.  You are going to rock the first day of kindergarten!  I can't wait to hear all about your first day when I get to come pick you up.  I love you to the moon and back!

Mommy
