Wednesday was Layton and Cooper's actual birthday so Lauren and I planned a fun day for the two boys. My mom agreed to watch Kyleigh so Lauren could spend the day with Cooper and give him all of her attention for a change. We started out in the morning taking them to ride the train at the zoo and then we took them to Fantastic Playland to play. After that we went downtown and took them to eat lunch at the Rainforest Cafe. The wait staff even came to our table and sang to the boys. It was fun to watch their reactions to all the excitement. Our good friend Juli and her daughter Tanner met us for lunch downtown. Every 30 minutes there is a thunderstorm at the restaurant with all the sound effects and some of the animals come alive. It was an interesting lunch keeping all three kids happy but I think it was worth it because they enjoyed it and we did too. Later than evening we had my parents over for dinner and Clifton grilled some fajitas. After we ate we took Layton outside for some birthday pictures. At first Layton was wondering why we were out in the field trying to get him to smile but then he finally warmed up and started smiling. We gave him his first cupcake and he wasn't quite sure what to do with it. He only ate a few bites and decided he had enough. Layton was exhausted that night but we had so much fun all day. I still can't believe I have a one year old now.
I apologize in advance for all the pictures but I wanted to capture all the great memories of the special day so here are my favorites. We started the morning off with opening a few presents from mama and dada.
We bought him a tractor he can ride and he loves it!!!
Here he is riding his tractor around the house
Then we had a very special breakfast that morning pancakes. Here he is signing "more" he loves pancakes!
I turned his carseat around in my car for the first time for our ride to San Antonio. He enjoyed being able to see and he could see Cooper next to him too. Waiting for the train to come pick us upSitting on the train
Cooper wasn't too happy that the train ride was over. He said "Bye bye train"Here is Layton playing in the toddler area at funtastic playland. Somehow he managed to pour his entire sippy cup of water all over him in the short car ride over there.

I just love this picture! Such a sweetie!Lauren and her birthday boy
Layton was too interested in the waterfall behind us to turn around for a picture.
Juli and Tanner in front of the aquarium at the Rainforest CafeMy dad took these later that night when we were eating dinner. If you look closely you can see Layton's hair finally growing a little bit.
I have the pictures that we took outside the night of his birthday to share too. I will update those tomorrow hopefully.
To be continued. . . . . .
